MCP

Manage your hosting with your AI assistant

With MCP, your AI assistant talks directly to your hosting package, within the access you choose.

What is MCP?

A standard for AI assistants

MCP is a standard that lets an AI assistant work with other services in a secure way. We offer an MCP server for your hosting package. We test the connection with Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP apps before we go live.

Secure

You sign in with a link in your email and choose per connection read only or manage, per website. Far-reaching actions always ask for your approval, and you pause or revoke everything from your portal.

How does it work?

Connected in three steps

  1. You paste one address

In your AI app you add Klappe Hosting as a connector, with the address we show you.

  2. You sign in

We email you a login link. No password and no token to copy around.

  3. You choose what is allowed

Read only or manage, per website. You can revoke it at any time in your portal.

Connect

Connect with Claude or ChatGPT

This is how you connect your AI. The same instructions are in your portal under Connect your AI.

The Klappe Hosting address

https://mcp.klappehosting.nl/mcp

Paste this address into your AI app wherever it asks for a URL or a server.

Claude

Website and desktop app

  1. Open Claude and go to Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Choose + Add and then Add custom connector.
  3. Enter Klappe Hosting as the name and paste the address above into the URL field. Choose Continue.
  4. Claude opens a Klappe Hosting window. Sign in with the link we email you, choose what your AI may do and choose Allow.
  5. Turn the connection on in a chat with the + button and then Connectors. Then you can start asking questions.

Do you have a Team or Enterprise plan with Claude? Then an admin first adds the connector under Organization settings, Connectors. After that everyone connects for themselves.

  2. Choose to add your own connector (a custom connector or MCP server).
  3. Enter Klappe Hosting as the name, paste the address above as the URL and choose OAuth as the sign-in method.
  4. ChatGPT opens a Klappe Hosting window. Sign in with the link we email you, choose what your AI may do and choose Allow.
  5. In a new chat, pick the Klappe Hosting connector and ask your question.

Menu names in ChatGPT change regularly and depend on your plan. Do you not see exactly these words? Search the settings for Connectors, or ask us on WhatsApp.

  3. Start Claude Code and type /mcp. Choose klappehosting and sign in through the browser.
  4. In the browser, choose what your AI may do and choose Allow. Back in Claude Code you can start right away.

Do you want only yourself to use the connection, in all projects? Add --scope user to the command.

Command for your terminal

  2. VS Code: in the command palette (Ctrl+Shift+P or Cmd+Shift+P) choose MCP: Add Server and then HTTP, or put the block for VS Code in .vscode/mcp.json.
  3. Other apps: search the settings for MCP or Connectors and paste the address above.
  4. The app opens the Klappe Hosting sign-in page. Sign in with the link we email you, choose what your AI may do and choose Allow.

Does your app not support signing in through the browser? Then create a personal token. You do that on the Connect your AI page in your portal.
