Made a website with AI? Here is how to put it online on your own domain

Put your website online from €9 per month

Free migration. We move your site and help you over WhatsApp, Monday to Sunday, 9:00 to 21:00.

In short

  • First check what your AI made: a single HTML file, a build with a dist folder, a Next.js project or an app with its own server. That decides the route.
  • You put an HTML file or a static build online with SFTP, or we do it for you as part of the free migration. The Website plan costs € 9 per month.
  • Apps with a server side, such as Node or Next.js with a server, fit a custom offer. Send us a WhatsApp message and we will work out what is needed together.
  • After you switch, your domain points to us through two nameservers. Your old site stays online until you change the nameservers.

You made a website with an AI tool and want it on your own domain, for example yourbusiness.com. That is possible. What you need to do depends on exactly what your AI made: with a plain file or a static build you are done quickly, with an app that has its own server there is one extra step. Below you can see in a few minutes which one you have, and what to do next.

What did your AI actually make?

Most AI tools give you one of these four things. The name of the tool says little, it is the type of output that counts.

  • A single HTML file. Everything is in one file, sometimes with a stylesheet and a few images next to it. Typical for a conversation with a chatbot.
  • A static build. A project with React and Vite (or Astro) that you build with npm run build. The result is a folder, usually dist, with ready-made files.
  • A Next.js project. This can be static if it is set up with output: 'export'. Then you get a folder called out. If the project uses server features such as API routes or server actions, it does not work as loose files.
  • An app with a server. Node, Express, a database or server-side rendering. The tool then builds a program that keeps running, not a folder of files.

If you only have an index.html, you are in the first category. If you see a package.json with a build script, it is a project with a build. If package.json contains names such as express or next start, or there is a server folder, you are in the last category.

The four steps, for every tool

The order is the same everywhere. Only the buttons in the tool differ, so look in the tool itself for the option to download the code or sync it with GitHub.

  1. Export. Get the files out of the tool: download a zip, copy the code into a file, or use the GitHub connection. The article on exporting as a zip or GitHub explains what that means for each tool.
  2. Check. Open the folder and look for index.html. If it is not in the main folder but in a subfolder, that subfolder is the one that goes online. See whether you can find a package.json anywhere. If there is a build script, run npm run build and use the output folder.
  3. Put it online. Upload the files through SFTP, or let us do it. For SFTP you use a free program such as FileZilla or Cyberduck. The login details are in your portal under Files. Would you rather not upload yourself? Send us your zip or GitHub link and we put it online.
  4. Connect your domain. You get two nameservers from us. You change them once at the company where you registered the domain. If your domain is not registered anywhere yet, we register it for you. The step-by-step guide is in connecting a domain name to your AI website.

Your old site, if you had one, stays online until you change the nameservers. That way you decide when the domain moves over.

Check these four things beforehand

A short check prevents most questions afterwards.

  • Paths. References to images and scripts must be correct from the place where the site will live. On your own domain /assets/logo.png is fine, in a subfolder it is not.
  • Secrets. Is there an API key in your code or in a file called .env? Remove it from the files you upload. Variables with the prefix VITE_ simply end up in the public code in a build.
  • Routes. A site with several pages in React needs a rule that sends all unknown addresses to index.html. That applies at every host. We set that rule up for you on request, a WhatsApp message is enough.
  • Forms and email. A contact form needs something that sends the message. How that works is explained in a contact form on your AI website. Email at your own domain belongs to the Mail plan, the Website plan does not include mailboxes.

Per tool: what to look out for

Claude. A page from the Claude app (artifact) is a single page, and if you publish it in Claude it lives on a Claude link. For your own domain you take the code out and put it online with us. If you build with Claude Code, you ask for a static site and run npm run build. Everything is in putting a website from Claude online, and on the page hosting for Claude websites.

ChatGPT. ChatGPT gives you code in the chat or in Canvas. You save it as index.html and a stylesheet and test it by double-clicking it. If ChatGPT wants to build a Node or Next app, ask for a static version or send us a WhatsApp message. The whole route is in putting a ChatGPT website online, and on the page hosting for ChatGPT websites.

Lovable. Older projects are React with Vite and build to static files. Projects from after 13 May 2026 use TanStack Start, which needs a server. You check that in package.json. See moving a Lovable website to your own domain and the page hosting for Lovable websites.

If you use another tool, see the overview at AI websites. Bolt, v0, Cursor, Gemini and Replit are there too.

What it costs and what we do

The Website plan costs € 9 per month, or € 13 per month together with Mail if you want mailboxes. All prices are on pricing. If you pay yearly, you get two months free. Your site sits behind Cloudflare, SSL is included, and there is a backup every day that you can restore in your portal under Backup and restore.

If you order the plan through the form, choose “made with AI” as the site type: order the Website plan. From there we carry on with your files or your GitHub link. If you later want your AI to update files itself, that is possible through MCP.

Does your project have its own server or database? A custom offer fits that best. Tell us what you built and which tool you used, and you will get a proposal with a clear price.

Frequently asked questions

Can I put a website from AI on my own domain without programming?

Yes, for an HTML file or a static build it is a matter of uploading files. If you would rather not do that yourself, we put them online as part of the free migration.

What if my AI website needs a server?

Then a custom offer fits. Send us a WhatsApp message with what you have and we will look at the best route.

Does my current site stay online during the switch?

Yes. The old site stays reachable until you change the nameservers. Only then does your domain move to the new place.
